Get the “wow” factor of the Three Birds Dream Home built by Rawson Homes
Every home needs a touch of ‘wow’, right? Hard to define but memorable when you see it, a wow factor comes from carefully curated design elements that take a home from simple to stunning. It could be a spectacular staircase, an amazing view, or even a beautiful kitchen island.
The new Three Birds Renovations Dream Home built by Rawson Homes features many of these memorable details.
Working with the experts from Rawson Homes, the Three Birds (Bonnie Hindmarsh, Lana Taylor and Erin Cayless) have created serious ‘can’t-believe-they-did-that moments’ in the new Dream Home. ‘Wow’ features include a spectacular double-height living area, awe-inspiring entry and a luxurious master suite.
“What we are doing is not cookie cutter,” explains Bonnie. “We are here to do a project home and do something that’s a little bit different.”
The ‘Great Room’
A Great Room is a signature element of American classic designs, and typically incorporates high ceilings to provide a central point for the family to gather. In the Three Birds Dream Home, the girls chose double height windows to create a feeling of space and to allow the home to be flooded with light.
Framed by soft floor-to-ceiling sheer curtains, the room functions as an anchor point of the floorplan and overlooks the renovated pool and outside entertaining space to create a relaxed feel.
Entrance/foyer and curved staircase
Working with the Rawson Homes team Three Birds have created a spectacular entrance to the home, setting the standard high and giving first-time visitors an idea of what’s to come throughout the house.
“When you head into the entry foyer of this home, you are presented with two key features of the home: the beautiful woodcut timber flooring and the spectacular staircase,” says Three Birds’ Erin. “The idea is that you walk into the house through those two glass doors and those two features really do take your breath away.”
Bonnie says, “The staircase is blowing my mind, the detailing on the woodcut, the brass trim on the edge of each tread and the curved shape – it was beautiful before, now it’s amazing.”
Large master suite
Modern parents need a retreat from the daily hustle (and the kids) sometimes, so the Three Birds Dream Home includes a generously sized master suite with ensuite and walk-in robe. This inclusion was a must-have for the Rawson build team too; many of their family homes feature a master suite.
Like other areas of the home, the master suite has a degree of luxe to it; a classic elegance that will give the design longevity. Designed on a grand scale, it even includes a sitting area for the adults of the family to gather and take time out.
Street appeal is vital in Knockdown Rebuild projects such as this one and they need to blend into an existing neighbourhood. Nailing the exterior materials for the Rawson Homes Dream Home was high on the priority list.
The Three Birds chose James Hardie Linea weatherboards to achieve their signature coastal cool look, complemented by chunky Axent trims around the windows to make them pop.
Linea weatherboards come pre-primed, making it easy for Rawson’s expert paint team to get straight to work on the façade, painting it in a classic white – Taubmans Cradle White for enduring appeal.
